The good news is, if you’re not in Melbourne, there’s still a way for you to be part of the action! Fed Square has kindly allowed us to share images on the large screen for the whole city to see. Throughout the day we’ll be broadcasting HIV/AIDS facts alongside all of our Photo Petition entries.
“What’s this photo petition ?” I hear you say. Well, let me tell you, it’s a ripper.
We’re asking people from all over Australia, and the world, ‘What does World AIDS Day mean to you?’ and inviting them to send us photos of themselves and their World AIDS Day messages (they’ll all be shown on the Fed Square big screen!).
We’re trying to make this process as easy as humanly possible for everyone, so are providing not 1 but 2 fail-safe options for you to get your photo petition images to us.
Fill in this form. All it’ll ask you to do is upload a preexisting photo of yourself and tell us what your World AIDS Day message is. We’ll do all the hard work and PhotoShop your message into a World AIDS Day speech bubble over your photo and voilá! Done and done. You’ll also be able to request that we send the completed image back to you (to be used as your Facebook profile pic for World AIDS Day!)
If you need some inspiration for your message, have a look at some great examples to get you started.
A 30-year international epidemic can mean a lot of different things to different people. World AIDS Day is a time to honour those we’ve lost, celebrate survivors, remember how far we’ve come, and acknowledge how far we’ve yet to go.
Please share this petition with as many people as you can. We’d love to have people from all walks of life represented on the Federation Square big screen on Saturday the 30th of November. We’ll also be sharing the photos on social media and our website. If you’ve got any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Entries close Sunday 24th November at 10pm.
